This Year… Don’t Give Stuff. Give Hope.

This Year… Don’t Give Stuff. Give Hope.

The Spirit of Christmas is wonderfully simple. It’s all about putting aside our own concerns to take care of others. It doesn’t require shopping, or presents or decorations. It most certainly has nothing to do with stress. Each year we bemoan the increasing commercialization of Christmas, even as we claw our way through the crowds at the mall, trying to find that perfect gift for the person who… just rented a storage unit because they couldn’t fit all their stuff in their house. (It really can get that nuts.)

This year, don’t let the craziness rob you of the Peace and Joy that Jesus came to bring. Christmas is not your birthday! We need an alternative. There are people in need this holiday. Giving them the gift of hope honors the One whose birthday it is. Don’t burden your friends and family with stuff they don’t need or want. Instead make them proud by giving a meaningful gift to Fellowship House in their honor. How’s this for a Christmas list?
