We Had A Growth Spurt

Each year, as the kids return to Fellowship House, we remark on how many of them have sprouted! Normally it’s a slow and steady growth, but sometimes it appears that some of the children have grown a foot overnight. Well, Fellowship House just had a growth spurt too!

As we look back at the past few months it’s exciting to see all that God has done. Our first growth spurt happened as we added a Wednesday “Enrichment Time” to the After School Program. Each group of children rotates through 4 classes each month:

  • Visual Arts
  • Performing Arts
  • Health and Wellness
  • Missions and Service Projects

It has been exciting to see the kids discover new interests, grow in their talents, and learn more about serving their world.

And then another growth spurt happened… we added a monthly Middle School Night, for kids in grades 5th-8th. Our first one was on November 21 and it was a huge success! The kids loved game time, hanging out with friends, eating lots of pizza (do you know how much Middle School kids can eat?), hearing the Bible talk and breaking up in to small groups for further discussion and prayer time. At a time on Friday night when the streets are dark and the cop cars sit on nearly every corner, Fellowship House was a safe place; a fun place; a place of belonging; a place of hope….a place where Jesus could truly touch their lives.

We don’t believe in staying stagnant. God is a god of growth! Although at times He prunes, He always brings healthy growth.

We invite you to be a part, or to continue being a part, of what is happening here at Fellowship House. It’s an exciting time, but it is also a very critical time for the lives of so many children… so please click below to make a difference now.
