Addictions Director
My name is Lucy DuBose and I work at the Fellowship House in Camden New Jersey. My position as Addictions Director has allowed me to fulfill my passion for working with the addicted in Camden. It is my desire to see people delivered and set free from this horrible epidemic that has plagued the city of Camden. Crime and drugs run rampant on our streets everyday and I believe that God has placed facilities like the Fellowship House in the middle of the chaos in order to provide a safe haven for those who are desperately seeking a way out.
Many men and women come in off the streets for food or clothing and we are able to share the Gospel with them, as well as offer them hope.
Here at the Fellowship House we provide prostitutes and drug addicts the opportunity to escape their environment and go away to a Christian Drug Rehabilitation Program where they are discipled and taught the word of God and are able to begin new lives in Christ Jesus. We also have Addiction Victorious support meetings for those who have come home from programs to continue on their journey of sobriety with accountability and support from the body of Christ. I know how important this process is since I myself was born and raised in Camden and was delivered from a terrible heroin and crack addiction 14 years ago.
This process can be very overwhelming at times with interviewing individuals, assessments and detoxing them when necessary. After locating a program for them somewhere in the United States we must purchase round trip tickets and pay induction fees. Many times individuals who come through our doors have burned all bridges and have no source of income. We must then pay for their expenses and transportation. We also provide luggage and clothing when needed. It is our desire to never have to turn any one in need away because of finances.
It is a privilege to interact with the people in this community who are very dear to my heart and are extremely desperate for help.
Thank you for your support to this ministry and for making it possible for an individual to go away and receive the help that they so desperately need. We are so grateful for people like you who give so generously. May the Lord bless you and keep you in all you do.
